Daisy Dukes Duo
Sunday 26 August @ 12:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Two seasoned country music stars with a penchant for denim shorts and high heels are bringing their sassy musicianship and in-your-face talent to The Grafton Hotel. The Daisy Dukes are Rachel Bostock and Jesse Emmanuel, two polished musicians and harmonisers who have been taking their local Gold Coast by storm.
Rachel Bostock has been part of successful country rock group The Bostocks since she was a young girl. Her violin playing has been rewarded with multiple Golden Fiddle Awards and the family band was nominated for 2 Golden Guitars in Tamworth last year. Having toured the country extensively for over a decade, Rachel’s energetic violin playing and zealous vocals never fail to impress.
Jesse Emmanuel has experienced similar success as a solo artist – touring, having hit singles on radio and television and taking out the 2010 APRA Songwriters Award. Her famous family (Phil & Tommy Emmanuel) have had a strong but not overpowering influence – Jesse is a singer and rhythm guitarist with her own eclectic sound.
In between projects, the long time friends came together with a plan for some extra cash, and ended up becoming one of the hottest acts in south east Queensland. Their setlists are full of sing-along staples with a Daisy Dukes spin, including The Corrs, The Dixie Chicks, Fleetwood Mac, Miranda Lambert, Kasey Chambers as well as their own original material.
